Our imaging and radiology services include:

  • MRI
  • 64-Slice CT
  • Digital Mammography
  • Ultrasound
  • DEXA (bone densitometry)
  • X-Ray
  • Comprehensive breast procedures such as breast MRI and minimally invasive breast biopsies

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

MRI uses a non-radiation imaging technique to produce high-quality images of bones, soft tissues and hard tissues primarily of the brain, spine and joints. The exam is painless and the duration varies with each type of exam.

CT (Computed Tomography)

CT, often called CAT scanning, uses special X-ray equipment to obtain images of body tissues and organs.

Cutting-edge 64-Slice technology dramatically increases the amount of date acquired within a scan, decreasing the exam time and providing detailed information that assists the physician in diagnosing and evaluating your condition.

Digital Mammography

Digital mammography allows the radiologist to manipulate the image of the breast, allowing greater visibility of the area in question so that you receive the best diagnosis available. With Digital mammography the radiation exposure is up to 50% less than a standard mammogram and is said to be pain free.

Ultrasound is a simple, pain free diagnostic tool that uses sound waves, not radiation, to produce an image. As the sound passes through the body, echoes are produced that can be used to identify how far away an object is, how large it is, and how uniform it is. With our 4D technology, the accuracy of tests such as breast, gynecologic and abdominal exams has increased and now includes 4D obstetrical ultrasounds.

DEXA (Bone Densitometry)

Bone Densitometry is a low-dose x-ray that checks for mineral loss and bone thinning and is the leading diagnostic tool for Osteoporosis. A bone density exam is a simple, painless and non-invasive exam which takes approximately 15 minutes. After an initial exam is done, subsequent tests are useful in monitoring your rate of bone loss.

General Radiology / X-rays

X-rays are a form of radiant energy which penetrates the body to produce pictures of internal structures. Radiologists and X-ray technologists are trained to use the least amount of radiation necessary to obtain the needed results. At Florida Hospital Fish Imaging, we have a team of 11 Board Certified Radiologists with numerous specializations in various aspects of women’s health and mammography.
